Vail Mountain is installing a new high-speed 4-person chair in the Sun Down Bowl from the base of Chair 5 (High Noon Express) to the Wildwood restaurant which will help reduce wait times on peak days and create more convenience for skiers and riders to access the bowl’s wide open terrain. The popular Game Creek Bowl is seeing an upgrade in the replacement of the current 4-person chair with a new high-speed 6-person chairlift, increasing capacity by nearly 50%.

Beaver Creek has added 250 acres of lift-served terrain for beginner and intermediate skiers and riders that will improve their mountain experience by inspiring confidence and progressively improving skills. McCoy Park will have two 4-person chairlifts, one high-speed and one fixed-grip, offering access to 17 trails of natural, groomed glades while maintaining snowshoe and cross-country areas.

Breckenridge introduces the new Freedom SuperChair which allows guests the opportunity to experience the wide-open and rolling terrain of Peak 7 in an entirely new way. The new lift, which runs alongside the existing Independence SuperChair, will provide additional access to Peak 7 and will significantly improve upon the interconnected, peak-to-peak experience at the resort. Guests coming from Peak 6 will easily be able to hop on the new Freedom SuperChair for quick access to Peaks 7 and 8.

Crested Butte replaced the Peachtree 2-person fixed-grip lift this past summer, which was originally installed in 1971, with a new 3-person fixed-grip lift that will service beginner terrain located at the base of the resort. This improvement will increase hill capacity by 50%, providing quicker access to mountain terrain.

Keystone upgraded the existing Peru Express Lift at the Mountain House base area to a new high-speed, 6-passenger chairlift. This new enhancement will greatly improve the on-mountain guest experience, allowing skiers and riders quicker access to Keystone’s winter playground. In addition, the U.S. Forest Service approved bringing lift-served skiing and riding to the Bergman Bowl within the next few years, which includes a new high-speed 6-person chairlift and new trails. The Outpost restaurant will be expanding to include 300 more indoor seats and 75 more outdoor seats for guests.

Telluride will provide beginner and intermediate skiers and riders with 40 new acres of terrain, including the new Grouse Glades. Special projects include upgrades to its snowmaking system and lift replacement, specifically moving from fixed-grip lifts to detachable chairlifts for lifts 4, 7, 9 and 10, which will significantly increase capacity on the mountain.

Winter Park is removing its Pioneer Express quad and replacing it with a high-speed detachable six-pack lift which will include a mid-station unloading ramp. The Lariat surface tow rope lift will be replaced with a conveyor lift, and several trails such as the Whistlestop, Jabberwocky and Bummer Flats will be improved upon. There will also be more food and beverage options to satisfy those mid-day cravings including Bradley’s at The Base serving chicken dishes from scratch, and Stoney’s Bar and Grill opening a location in the Winter Park Village.
